What to Expect at Your Initial Oral Medicine Specialist Appointment

Fees and Rebates

Consultation and treatment fees apply for Oral Medicine specialist services. All private health insurance funds are accepted on site and may provide a rebate toward the consultation fee, depending on your level of cover. Medicare does not subsidise Oral Medicine consultations, and patients are encouraged to make their own enquiries with their insurer to understand any potential out-of-pocket costs. Fees may include an initial consultation fee, and where clinically indicated, additional fees may apply for procedures such as biopsies or other investigations.

Remember to Bring With You:

  • An updated list of your current medications (including dose and frequency).
  • Any important information regarding the condition we are seeing you for (lab results, imaging, sleep study results, etc.).
  • Any oral appliances that you currently use or have stopped wearing.

We understand that people have busy lives and that chronic pain may affect you to varying degrees. If you should need to cancel or reschedule your visit with us, please do so 48 hours prior to your visit so that we may make your appointment available to someone else in need of care.
